My apartment was never messy until I got Finn, my mini dachshund. Between his toys, treats, and grooming supplies, my living room always looked slightly “lived-in” in the chaotic sense. His old metal crate was secure but stuck out like a sore thumb. I started looking for something that could keep him contained but not make my home look like a kennel.
The IRONCK crate in walnut arrived flat-packed. I was worried about assembly, but it was surprisingly simple. All the parts fit together logically, and the included tool did the job. Within thirty minutes, it was standing in my living room, sturdy and ready. The door latch felt secure the first time I clicked it shut.
Finn is long, so space was a priority. This crate is deeper than most. He can fully stretch out or curl up without feeling cramped. He seemed to settle in more quickly here, maybe because it feels more like a den than a cage.
The storage is what I use every single day. The flip-top lid is where I keep his favorite ball and daily training treats. The smooth drawer underneath holds all the less-used items—his brush, nail clippers, spare leash. Everything is out of sight but right where I need it. My side table clutter is gone.
It’s also tough. Finn isn’t a heavy chewer, but he’s tried. The solid wood frame and reinforced metal have held up perfectly, without a single scratch or dent to show for his efforts.
Now, it doesn’t feel like there’s a dog crate in my living room. It feels like I have a nice side table that, coincidentally, is Finn’s favorite nap spot. He has his safe, comfortable space, and I have my tidy, adult-looking apartment back. It just works.
